NSCDC mobilises 1,800 personnel for Saturday’s election

The Jigawa state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized 1,800 of it’s personnel to join other security agents to ensure peaceful and orderly local government council’s election scheduled for Saturday October 5, 2024.

This was contained in a statement issued, signed and made available to Tribune Online in Dutse by the command’s public relations officer, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani Mahmud.

It reads in part, “over 1,800 officers and personnel have been mobilized and strategically deployed to polling units, collation centers, and key locations to provide security before, during and after the electoral process”.

According to the statement “The deployment is part of a comprehensive security plan aimed at safeguarding voters, election officials, and materials, as well as ensuring that the elections are conducted in a peaceful and orderly manner”.

Tijjani also noted that “Our officers have been well-trained and equipped to handle any security challenges that may arise during the election.

“We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for citizens to exercise their voting rights without fear or intimidation”.

He added that the state’s commandant, Muhammad Danjuma would collaborates with other security agencies to ensure a seamless and and gives deserving approach to enforce law and order during and after the election.

“NSCDC’s intelligence unit will be active in monitoring the situation, gathering real-time information, and addressing any potential threats”.

The NSCDC urges all political parties, candidates, and voters to abide by the rules and regulations governing the election process, warns any attempt to disrupt the electoral process or engage in violence will be met with the full force of the law.

The command encourage voters to go out and exercise their franchise without any fear or intimidation and also cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities through the Command’s hotlines to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
