Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, have received the National Information Technology Merit Award (NITMA) IT Gold Merit Award and Digital Governor of the Year award, respectively, by the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS).
The IT Gold Merit Award recognises Governor Obaseki’s outstanding contributions to Information Technology (IT) development in Edo State.
Governor Sani emerged as the winner after an online voting process by Nigerians and has since been awarded at a ceremony in Lagos State.
Receiving the award at the Muson Center, Lagos, Governor Obaseki said the recognition is a call to do more for the people of Edo.
Obaseki, represented by the Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa Esq., said, “Just about two months ago, the Bureau of Public Service gave out about eight awards, and Edo State went home with five of the awards on digital governance. We expect more awards to come, and this award is a call for Governor Obaseki to do much more for the people of Edo.”
Meanwhile, the NCS lauded the Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Uba Sani, for its unwavering dedication and efforts in bolstering the application of technology in the administration of the state, especially in the areas of agriculture, revenue collection, health, and education.
These technological interventions have made Kaduna State a hub of technological innovation and advancement.
