Nationnewslead report that Today, the electorate in Ijesa North federal constituency of Osun State have since converged in seepages at the different polling units in the land and are currently making a choice from the alternatives of the presidential and parliamentarian candidates placed before them in the on going general elections.
Dr Thomas Ogungbangbe, a one – time House of Representatives aspirant, joined by his wife, cast his vote at the Olashore International Schools Polling Unit of Ward 11, Ijeda Iloko in Oriade local government council area of the state.
Speaking on the exercise, the business magnate noted that ballot is the key to arriving at the best and most widely acceptable candidates of the pack of the political parties on parade on the ballot paper.
However, he observed that the traffic of voters showing is slow and blamed the apathy on the slow growth of the nation’s democracy, decades after.
He enjoined the holders of permanent voter’s cards, PVCs to come out and vote for the candidates of their choice, noting that to further campaign for a particular party is anti- Electoral Act.
He added that democracy continues in Nigeria with or without one shown up at the poll.
“Voting is the baseline for the edifice of elective government and you’re robbed of the right to complain in the next four years if you don’t participate in the process today,” Ogungbangbe posited, saying, “your participation is participation in nation building based on extra possibilities for positively altering the course of next generation.
