A retired police officer, Prince Okoeguale Saturday Fred and a philanthropist, Mrs Ehiagwina Joy Patrick, among others, will be honoured with chieftaincy titles on August 18 by the Onikoyi of Ikoyi-Ekiti kingdom in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Moses Akinwande Ogundana.

A release signed by the palace’s Secretary, Prince Oluwole Fagbewesa, disclosed that this is part of activities marking the first coronation anniversary of Oba Ogundana.

The release further noted that the honourees had been contributing to the development of communities across Nigeria and humanity in general.

According to Oba Ogundana, Prince Fred who was born in Eguare Ugbegun in Edo State about seven decades ago, joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1975, where he demonstrated unwavering dedication and integrity throughout his career, rising to the rank of Superintendent of Police and serving the country for 35 years with distinction before his retirement in 2010.

He will be conferred with Otunba Gbobaniyi of Ikoyi-Ekiti kingdom by the royal father.

Meanwhile, Mrs Patrick, also an Edo State-born businesswoman and a philanthropist par excellence, had been contributing to the growth of her community and always ensuring that anybody who comes her way succeeds in whatever dreams they believe in.

Mrs Patrick is currently the Group Managing Director of Patjeda Group of Companies Limited, one of the fastest-growing indigenous conglomerates in Nigeria. She will be conferred with the title of Erelu Yeyemeso of Ikoyi-Ekiti kingdom.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that the coronation anniversary is coincidental with this year’s New Yam and Ogun festivals.

It was also gathered that the New Yam festival holds in the community today, Tuesday, August 6, to be followed by Ogun Festival on August 12 while the coronation ceremony holds between August 15 and 18.

Among dignitaries to be conferred with chieftaincy titles include Chief (Mrs) Omowale Olufunmilayo Bello and Chief Sunday Adeyemo Igboho.

Meanwhile, some indigenes of the community will be honoured with outstanding and post-humous awards for their contribution to the development of Ikoyi-Ekiti kingdom.
