The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has accused the state government of plotting to attack its members by using impersonators dressed as police officers.
The party made these allegations in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, on Sunday in Osogbo.

According to the APC, the state government, led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, intends to deploy individuals disguised as police officers to disrupt market activities and harm local government officials who are aligned with the APC.

This move, the party claims, is part of a broader strategy by the state government to prevent the return of the party’s reinstated local government executives.
The APC pointed out that since the Court of Appeal in Akure reinstated the elected local government officials on February 10, 2025, the state government has resorted to various tactics to prevent them from assuming office.
The party alleged that the state government plans to use Niger Delta militants and hoodlums from the South-West, dressed in police uniforms, to create chaos in the markets.
This would, according to the APC, wrongly implicate the party for any resulting violence or disorder.
“It is unfortunate that Governor Adeleke has refused to accept that the APC chairmen and councillors, reinstated by the court, are legally empowered to administer local government affairs, including market supervision,” the statement read.
The party also criticized Governor Adeleke for not seeking redress at the Supreme Court if he disagreed with the Court of Appeal’s ruling, accusing him of resorting to unlawful tactics.
The APC warned that it would resist any attempt to obstruct its reinstated officials and called on law enforcement to prevent further political tensions in the state.
