The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told the embattled state Governor Ademola Adeleke that he is the architect of the misfortune that may be bedeviling his administration contrary to his unsubstantiated allegations against the opposition at his make-believe state executive council meeting that was purportedly held by him few days ago.
A wicked person knows himself, he is only awaiting the remark of another person to pronounce him as being wicked just like what is playing out under the administration of Governor Adeleke in Osun State.
It was funny indeed that a governor which never held an executive meeting in its over two years of its administration was flaunting a meeting that never was in order to make it appear that the Adeleke government is not being run by impulse rather than planning.
That is not even our concern as its too late in the day for Governor Nurudeen Adeleke to give what he does not possess in terms of qualitative governance.
The pronouncement of the governor that his government could not be distracted is balderdash and misplaced as one does not need to be a rocket scientist to observe and conclude that the Adeleke government has engaged in self-destructive game.
It is only in a minimalist administration like that of the reigning Adeleke’s government that a governor is guilty of sponsoring protests of the state workers against itself.
Who does not know that the ongoing shunning of work by the state chapter of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) is at the instance of Governor Adeleke? What further self-destructive exercise could be more than this by any government?
The pleading of Governor Adeleke that his administration could not be distracted was only a smokescreen as he has been the one distracting his own administration by choosing the court judgements he would obey and not obey because he is the state governor.
We want to drum it into the hearing of the visibly embattled governor that he would always be distracting himself as long as he chooses to fragrantly disobey the Court of Appeal judgement of the 10th of February, 2025 that reinstated the APC local government council chairmen.
Serial distractions would be the portion of the Adeleke administration as long as he persists in calling the bluff of the Federal Government on issues of mis-governance in the state that are visible to the blind, audible to the deaf and tangible to the morons.
For instance, the number one law officer of the nation, Mr Lateef Fagbemi, advised the recalcitrant governor not to hold any election as there were no vacancies in the local government, he went ahead and connived with his pliable state Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) chairman to write results of the elections that were never held, and he was subsequently talking of being distracted.
It is also on record that Governor Adeleke went against the security alert of the Inspector-General of Police not to hold any election, yet he went ahead to conjure the results of the purported election and sought the validation of same through the backdoor by enlisting the services of some pliable police officers who wrote a false report that the election that never held was free and fair which is the reason they are singing like canary birds at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
In all this, it is crystal clear that Nurudeen is the architect of his political misfortune as it is not possible for him to be antagonistic to the Federal directives and expect to know peace.
We are quite aware of the fact that the basis of his grandstanding is to hold together the members of his party and feign to the sacked local government caretaker officials of his party that all is well with the party when it is apparent that it is in disarray but such development should not have been the basis for Adeleke to show hostility to the Federal Government.
It was the antagonistic posture of Governor Adeleke to the Federal Government on the Osun State affair that made the governor to slightishly dodge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s invitation of all the governors and ministers to Itsab prayers at the seat of power, Aso Rock, on Monday.
