Nationnewslead report that The candidate of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2023 National Assembly Elections in Ijesa North Federal Constituency, Barr. Seun Odofin has cast his vote at 9.46 a.m. at African Primary School, Unit 02 Ward 03, Ijebu-Jesa, Oriade Local Government of Osun State in the March 18, 2023 Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.
Though, Osun State is not participating in the Governorship Election having conducted its election on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Barr. Seun Odofin who arrived his poling unit alongside some voters he had mobilized prior to the election day was welcomed by other voters on the queue, INEC officials and security agents on duty.
His arrival however changed the already dull atmosphere as some voters who had earlier shunned the voting exercise started showing up at the poling unit.
After casting his vote in line with Electoral Act, Barr. Odofin expressed satisfaction with the conduct of voters, security agents and INEC officials on duty but condemned the low turnout of voters.
With the apathy witnessed at his polling unit as of the time he arrived, Barr. Odofin advised voters to go out and vote peacefully. He then assured them that their votes would count and there won’t be any act of intimidation or violence.
“I advised all eligible voters to come out and vote peacefully. I assure you that your votes will count and nobody will.intimidate, harass you or instigate any violence because security agents are up to the task.
“We can’t shun the process to elect our leaders and still blame the emergence of incompetent leaders. Definitely, we are the cause of the blame.
“It’s our civic responsibility to exercise our franchise. To vote or be voted for is our duty. Let’s participate actively in the process that will push Nigeria to the peak of progress and good governance”. He concluded. Continue Reading
