The Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat has declared support for truck drivers under the aegis of the Heavy Duty and Haulage Transport Association of Nigeria (HDHTAN), Oyo State chapter over extortion of its members by illegal tax agents across the state.
Hamzat gave this assurance on Monday during a courtesy visit paid to him in his office in Ibadan.

The Chairman, HDHTAN, Comrade Benjamin Bamidele explained that the visit is aimed at ensuring its members move unharassed in the state.
The Chairman stated that the group has sent an application letter to the Inspector General of Police on the enforcement of Federal Government Mandates Order 001 on curbing insecurity and economic sabotage.
According to him, the order is aimed at putting a stop to extortion of its members and other haulers by illegal revenue collectors and as well put a stop to multiple taxation.
He lamented series of harassment and extortions being faced by its members in the course of discharging their duties by illegal revenue agents.
Also present at the visit is the Vice Chairman, HDHTAN, Oyo State Chapter, Adenaike Victor; Secretary, Akinwumi Akinloye and other members including Bamgbose Funmilayo and Oladipo Gbeminiyi.
