Oyo State Government has commenced pilot project on digitisation and automation of medical records to enhance effective Medicare service delivery at the various government-owned hospitals in the state.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr Akin Fagbemi made this known during a working visit to the State Hospital Ring Road, Ibadan.
He said project when completed would improve communication among the departments in the hospital.
The chairman also noted the areas where government intervention is necessary, such as improving laboratory services and addressing the Mortuary situation.
Fagbemi who commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering dedication to the betterment of the state’s healthcare system said under his leadership, significant investments have been made in improving the facilities and services at Ring Road Hospital and other hospitals in the state, resulting in a marked transformation in its fortunes.
The chairman also praised the Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, for her efforts in championing healthcare reform and facilitating these improvements.
The chairman also acknowledged the ongoing free eye treatment and surgeries provided by the Al Bassor Eye Foundation, which will benefit thousands of patients.
The visit revealed several notable improvements made by the current administration in the state, including comprehensive diagnostic facilities, a modern Diabetes and Dialysis center, and well-tarred roads.
