The suspension of the Social Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate, Mr Folorunso Lana and other chieftains have raised dust among the ranks and files of the party in Oyo state.

While the party in a suspension letter signed by its state chairman, Okunlade Michael hinted of the development, the gubernatorial candidate described it as a joke taken too far.
The party hinged his suspension on an alleged anti-party and lack of commitment to the growth of the party in the state.
The letter read, “After reviewing the activities of Mr folorunsho Lana, the gubernatorial candidates in the just concluded general election and the secretary of the party during and after the elections, the whole house resolved as follows:That Mr folorunsho Lana be suspended from the party for anti-party activities. No substantial contribution to
“The state secretary of the party, Mr Idowu Owokoya should be suspended for indiscipline, insubordination and dropping the name of the national secretary to destabilize the party. In line with the party constitution.
“We, therefore, wish to forward the resolution of the party for your office’s approval to suspend both Mr Folorunsho Lana and Idowu Owokoya.”
The party also resolved that Ajibola Adeniyi of Lagelu local government under the Oyo central secretariat district to replace Idowu Owokoya in an acting capacity.
However, the gubernatorial candidate described his suspension as a joke taken too far.
According to him, “Don’t mind them. They are jokers and lovers who are trying to redeem themselves from their inglorious alliance with the APC”.
