The Honourable Member representing Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency, Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, on Wednesday, welcomed the Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria during a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, PhD.
The visit, which took place at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, was part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic and parliamentary relations between Nigeria and Tunisia. The Tunisian envoy was received by Speaker Abbas and other lawmakers, including Hon. Oke, who played a key role in facilitating the warm reception.
Hon. Oke, a ranking member of the House, expressed delight at the ambassador’s visit, describing it as a positive step towards deepening bilateral cooperation in trade, education, and cultural exchange between the two nations. He emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and economic growth.
While addressing the delegation, Speaker Abbas reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to engaging productively with international partners for national development. He acknowledged the contributions of lawmakers like Hon. Oke, whose efforts continue to promote Nigeria’s image on the global stage.
The Tunisian Ambassador, in his remarks, appreciated the warm reception by the Nigerian lawmakers and expressed readiness to work closely with the National Assembly to enhance ties between both countries. The visit ended on a note of optimism for future engagements and stronger diplomatic collaboration.
