PRESIDENT of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria Bishop Francis Wale Oke and his, Reverend (Mrs) Victoria Oke, have empowered 40 youths as part of the activities marking the 40th posthumous of their late daughter through the Dorcas Oke Hope Alive Initiatives (DOHAL) foundation.
In addition to the N100,000 empowerment fund donated to each youth and the skill acquisition training, Oke, who also founded Sword of the Spirit Ministries International, presented another facility for expanding the foundation.

Another high point of the activities in honour of the late Dorcas Oluwaseyitanfunmi Oke was the annual public lecture on the theme, “The Challenges of the African Child,” held at the auditorium of Precious Cornerstone University, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Some of the dignitaries, which were graced by former Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther University, Bishop of Ilesha Diocese, Anglican Communion, Professor Dapo Asaju; the founding Partner of Future Africa and former Chief Executive Officer of Flutterware, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji; and the founding Bishop of Victory Life Ministries International, Bishop Mike Bamidele, among other dignitaries.
Professor Asaju during his lecture titled, “African Youths: Leaders of Tomorrow or Leaders from Today”, charged youths to take over the leadership of the country.
He pointed out the lives of Joseph, Daniel, Samuel, King Josiah, Queen Esther, and David as well as people like Martins Luther King jr, Obafemi Awolowo, and others that led their people at a very young age.
He also urged the youths to use their population advantage, strength energy, knowledge, innovation, vision, prosperity, and professionalism to take over the country’s leadership.
“Nigeria can be another Dubai, it can be better than Dubai. Where you will be tomorrow will be your responsibility. You’re the leaders from today. Take today and your future will be better. Nigeria time has come,’ he added.
During the public lecture, Aboyeji emphasised the need to incorporate leadership teachings, such as entrepreneurship, into school curricula.
He highlighted five key qualities the African child should be taught: resoluteness, responsibility, resourcefulness, resilience, and non-relentlessness. He encouraged the youth to seize leadership opportunities without waiting for anyone else to take the initiative.
The chairman on the occasion, Bishop Bamidele said the African child needed a model, skills, financial support, and scholarship.
Therefore, he charged them to imbibe leadership skills, adding that “the world would be led by Africa and that it is time for African youths to shine.”
