
The Ekiti state police command has alerted residents of the state of planned attack on motorcyclists and passengers by suspected hoodlums.
The police public relations officer DSP Abutu Sunday in a statement made available to Sunday Tribune said the command through credible intelligence uncovered the plot by some armed hoodlums to attack people especially at night.

He advised residents especially motorcyclists to shun riding at night across the major towns in the state to avoid being cut in the web of the attack.
The statement reads, ” the State Police Command is in receipt of an intelligent report that some armed hoodlums have concluded plan and are now out to attack motorcyclists and dispossessing them of their motorcycles, money and other valuables.
” Reliable information available has it that this set of criminal elements will lure their intended victims to isolated locations at odd hours under the pretence of paying extra charges, attack them and cart away their motorcycles and other belongings.
” The Command is deeply concerned and in view of this, implores members of the public especially motorcycle riders to, in their own interest, shun riding at late hours of the day, avoid taking customers to isolated or strange locations, be cautious when conveying two or more passengers at a time to distant or isolated locations out of greed.
” While the Command will continue to work assiduously to ensure that maximum security is provided for the citizenry, members of the public are advised to be wary of the activities of these criminal elements and observe these precautionary measures in order not to be victims of the men of the underworld.”
The PPRO however warned the criminal elements, ” to desist from their criminal activities in the State, or meet their Waterloo soon.”
