The Kano State Police Command has rescued a four-year-old boy, Muhammad Nasir Jamilu, who was kidnapped, and arrested three suspects in connection with the abduction.

According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, made available to the press in Kano on Tuesday, Jamilu was abducted from Sharada Quarters and taken to Gwarzo Town, where a ransom of ₦10,000,000 was demanded.

Following negotiations, ₦300,000 was paid as a part of the ransom, pending the balance, according to the police.

Kiyawa added that the suspects, Hisbullahi Salisu, Hassan Ali Rabiu, and Hassan Aliyu, were arrested. The principal suspect, Salisu, a cousin of the victim, confessed to conspiring with the two others to carry out the kidnapping.

He further stated that the victim was rescued unharmed, taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano, and later reunited with his parents.

Upon receiving the report, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, ordered the immediate rescue of the victim and the arrest of the culprits.

With technical support, detectives arrested the three suspects: Hisbullahi Salisu, 30, and Hassan Ali Rabiu, 28, both from Yakasai Quarters, Kano, and Hassan Aliyu, 22, of Hotoro Quarters, Kano.

The principal suspect, Salisu, confessed to conspiring with the others to kidnap the victim, who was held hostage in Gwarzo Town, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State.

A ransom demand of ₦10,000,000 was made, but after negotiations, ₦300,000 was paid, with the balance still pending.

The victim was rescued unharmed, taken to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital, and reunited with his parents.

The Kano State Police Command commended the Surveillance Team for their professionalism and swift response, which led to the successful rescue.
