Nationnewslead report that The candidate of All Progressive Congress for Ijesa North Federal Constituency in the February 25, 2023 National Assembly Elections, Barr. Seun Odofin has commiserated with the people of Iwoye-Ijesa and Ere-Ijesa in ward 04 Oriade Local Government of Osun State over the devastated rainstorm disaster which ravaged the two communities and rendered some persons homeless and destroyed other infrastructural facilities.
According to reports, in Iwoye-Ijesa alone, the rainstorm destroyed more than 60 buildings including blocks of classrooms, churches and market stalls.
Also in Ere-Ijesa, more than 100 houses among them are Auditorium of United Baptist Church, electricity poles and boreholes were affected. The sad incident occurred on Saturday, March 4, 2023.
Speaking on the matter, the Oniwoye of Iwoye-Ijesa, HRM. Oba Amos Ogidiolu said the rain which lasted for about fifteen minutes wreaked serious havoc in the ancient town.
HRM. Oba Augustine Alowolodu, Elere of Ere-Ijesa lamented the sorrowful effects of the rainstorm on the community.
The two traditional rulers appealed to Osun State Government and well-meaning individuals to come to the aid of the rainstorm victims.
Seun Odofin according to his media office shared in the grief of all those affected by the disaster.
The Founder of Odofin OASIS Foundation appealed to Osun State Governor, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke; National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) other relevant agencies of federal and state governments, development partners and other kind-hearted individuals to support in providing prompt succour to the affected victims.
He posited that absolute care, expression of love and provision of relief materials for the victims will go along way to bring them back to normal life.
“I received with shock the news of the damaged done by rainstorm in Iwoye-Ijesa and Ere-Ijesa in ward 04 of Oriade Local Government of my state, Osun.
“It’s so painful. I was informed many people have been rendered homeless and infrastructural facilities destroyed.
“I’m making contacts to see that our people receive quick succour from NEMA; other agencies of Federal and State Governments and development partners.
“I’m also calling on Osun State Government under the leadership of H.E. Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke and kind-hearted individuals to come to the rescue of our people through provision of relief materials. Continue Reading
