The director of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) North-West Area Office, Mr. Kehinde Aremu-Cole, urged corps members to avoid night journeys.
During his visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Kwara state, where he addressed the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream 2 corps members, Mr Aremu-Cole emphasised that the loss of a child in an automobile accident during national service due to unnecessary night travel is a heart-wrenching experience that parents could never imagine.

He urged them to resist any temptation or pressure that might lead them to embark on a night journey.
The NYSC boss also encouraged the corps members to accept their postings with good faith, emphasising that their service to their fatherland is to impact their respective host communities positively. He advised them to focus on the positive contributions they can make through the instrument of Community Development Service (CDS).
Expressing his passion for community development, youth empowerment, and human capital development, Mr. Aremu-Cole offered the corps members free access to assistance from him in pursuing national goals.
In the meantime, when welcoming the director earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC in Kwara state, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, described the director as an orator with administrative competence worthy of emulation. He emphasized the importance of corps members adhering to the director’s instructions, noting that the director has mentored many youths and close associates to achieve their set goals.
Before his departure, the NYSC North-West Area Office Director inspected the camp facilities.
