Three people, including a husband and wife, were reportedly abducted in their residence by suspected kidnappers on Saturday night at about 10:00 p.m. at Owoyale Agbamu in the Ajase Ward 2 of the Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The kidnap incident was confirmed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, on Sunday evening.
The Tribune gathered that unknown armed men stormed Owoyale village, located along Oro-Agbamu road, and forcefully whisked the three persons to an unknown location.
The names of the kidnap victims were given as Alhaji Moshood and Alhaji Abdulkazeem Owoyale (siblings), and Alhaji Moshood’s wife.
The PPRO said that the state Police Command, alongside vigilante/hunter groups, had swung into action, combing the forest to rescue the three victims unhurt and apprehend the criminals behind the act.
“The Kwara State Police Command is aware of an unfortunate kidnap incident that occurred on 1st February 2025 at about 2200 hours. It was reported that unknown armed men stormed Owoyale village along Oro-Agbamu road and forcefully whisked three persons to an unknown location: Alhaji Moshood, Alhaji Abdulkazeem Owoyale (siblings), and the wife of Alhaji Moshood.
“The Police, alongside the vigilante/hunter groups, has swung into action, combing the forest to rescue the three victims unhurt and apprehend the criminals behind this act.
“Further developments on the outcome will be communicated as they progress,” the PPRO said in the statement.
