Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has sworn in five newly appointed commissioners and inaugurated members of the governing council for the state’s tertiary institutions.
Speaking shortly after the commissioners took their oath of office at the Little Ray Field Government House, Governor Mutfwang stated that the commissioners were carefully selected from their respective local government areas based on their track records of excellence, integrity, and dedication to public service.
The governor, who emphasized that the appointments were not privileges but responsibilities, called on the commissioners to serve with diligence, transparency, and accountability. He charged them to channel their wealth of experience and expertise towards the success of “The Time is Now” administration.

“Your role in effectively implementing government policies will be crucial in delivering the dividends of democracy to our people. You are expected to drive the vision of this administration with passion, efficiency, and unwavering commitment to service delivery.
“As public servants, you are the face of this government, and the citizens of Plateau State look up to you to not only uphold the principles of accountability but also to embody the spirit of innovation and responsiveness. The task before us is enormous, but with collective dedication, we can overcome challenges and bring about the transformation our people desire.”
He pointed out that his administration remains committed to peace and security, infrastructural development, effective healthcare services, education, and good governance. He urged the commissioners to study the administration’s developmental blueprint and align their efforts with the set goals.
The governor encouraged them to introduce innovative ideas that will accelerate the state’s progress, adding that their expertise, integrity, and dedication to the public good will be instrumental in ensuring that the administration leaves behind a legacy of service and excellence.
Governor Mutfwang equally tasked the chairmen and members of the Governing Council of Tertiary Institutions in Plateau State to be diligent in their responsibilities, noting that they were carefully selected based on their vast knowledge and experience.
“Education remains a cornerstone of our development agenda, and your mandate is to reposition our tertiary institutions to equip our youth with the requisite skills and knowledge to compete globally. I urge you to bring your expertise to bear in revitalizing the education sector and making our institutions centers of excellence.”
He added that the appointments were a call to duty, an opportunity to serve with distinction, and leave a lasting impact in the state. He enjoined them to stay focused, remain dedicated, and let the spirit of excellence guide their actions.
He concluded: “As we embark on this journey together, let us remain steadfast in our vision to build a Plateau State that is accountable, progressive, and reflective of the values and aspirations of its people. Through our collective efforts, we will establish a government that prioritizes sustainable development, good governance, and the well-being of all citizens.”
