United States President, Donald Trump, has announced a military operation targeting ISIS in Somalia, stating that the U.S. has eliminated a senior attack planner and his recruits through precision airstrikes.
The Republican president made this known in a post on his verified X account on Saturday.
According to him, the terrorists who had been hiding in caves posed a direct threat to the U.S. and its allies.
The operation, he said, successfully destroyed the militants’ hideouts and neutralised numerous fighters without causing civilian casualties.
Trump criticised the previous administration, asserting that the military had been tracking the ISIS leader for years but had not acted decisively under former President Joe Biden.

He, however, declared that the attack served as a warning to ISIS and other terrorist groups, vowing that those who threaten Americans would be hunted down and killed.
He tweeted, “This morning I ordered precision Military air strikes on the Senior ISIS Attack Planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia. These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies.
”The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians. Our Military has targeted this ISIS Attack Planner for years, but Biden and his cronies wouldn’t act quickly enough to get the job done. I did! The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that “WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!”
