Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman Zakka Maikalangu has reaffirmed his dedication to impactful governance when he said he has constructed fifteen asphalt roads in twelve political wards of the area council.

The Chairman disclosed this at the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction and rehabilitation of Lugbe township roads, held in LEA primary school. Maikalangu emphasised the vital role of infrastructure in boosting the economic conditions of the residents.

He said, “A few months ago, at the ground-breaking ceremony of the Dnako community, I personally expressed my commitment to make a positive impact by providing social amenities across the twelve wards of the Council that will directly impact the lives of my people economically. Today’s ceremony here is a confirmation of my promise to be responsive to the basic needs of our people.

“It may interest you to note that, as part of the road revolution we are celebrating today, we are proud to have constructed over fifteen (15) asphalt legacy roads across the three zones of the 12 political wards of the Council, all ready for commissioning.

“In line with our vision, this project is focused on making life more meaningful for our teaming electorate. We have also embarked on rural electrification, water supply, health services, women and youth empowerment, as well as enhancing educational development, among others.

“These projects wouldn’t have been possible if residents failed to pay their taxes and levies to the government. I therefore appeal to all residents to please pay their taxes and cooperate with AMAC in order to serve you better.

“Our achievements so far in road construction and rehabilitation are in line with the FCT development roadmap demonstrated by my mentor and leader, the Hon. Minister of the FCT, His Excellency, Barr. Nyesom Wike. With Him, we are inspired to give back hope to our people based on the renewed hope agenda of Mr. President.

“I want to call on traditional rulers, residents, property owners, and other stakeholders to cooperate and compliment government efforts by giving maximum support to the contractor so that he can deliver the job in record time.

“I also charge you to guard against any substandard jobs done by the contractor and report the same to us for appropriate action. I hereby urge all AMAC citizens to guard public infrastructure provided by the government jealously.”
