The people of Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency have appreciated the member representing them at the House of Representatives, Hon. Akinmoyede Olafisoye for creating another employment opportunity for his constituents.
The people lauded the lawmaker for organising the fifth empowerment programme through where over 1,000 constituents benefited from the programme within five months.
The constituents said the lawmaker had always prioritised their wellbeing right from the day he became their representative, stressing that no lawmaker had represented Akinyele/Lagelu federal constituency and performed like him.
The event took place at Community Grammar School, Alegongo, Akobo-Ojurin, Ibadan, where beneficiaries received 10 new tricycles otherwise known as Keke Marwa, sewing and grinding machines, while fertilisers, spraying machines, herbicides, pesticides and knapsack sprayers were also distributed for farmers in conjunction with National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation for rural farmers in selected communities in the constituency.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that among beneficiaries are Mr. Opeyemi Gbolagade, Joshua Oyebamiji, Fatai Awoyoola, Afeez Olusara and others.
The people appreciated the lawmaker for the gesture and pointed out that no representative member from the constituency has performed like Olafisoye since 1999.
While handing over the materials to the beneficiaries, Hon. Olafisoye, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Nigeria/Mexico Parliamentary Friendship, said his perspective has always been to support the people to be self-reliant, hence his desire to organise various empowerment programmes for them.
