NIGERIAN music sensation, Zlatan Ibile, days back marked a significant milestone as he celebrated 10 years since his breakthrough into the music industry.
Reflecting on his journey, Zlatan shared heartfelt gratitude to God and to his former colleagues at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), whose unwavering support played a crucial role in launching his career.
10 years ago, Zlatan revealed that he was just an aspiring footballer with dreams of making it big on the field.
However, a life-changing event at MAPOLY altered his trajectory.
Encouraged by his fellow students, Zlatan participated in a music contest which he won, thanks to their belief in his talent. This victory marked the beginning of his transition from football to music.
“There was no Zlatan Ibile, just an aspiring footballer,” Zlatan reminisced. “MAPOLY students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest! From then, everything changed from football to music. I did not have two personal songs, let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo.”
Zlatan’s big break came in 2017 when he collaborated with Olamide Baddo on the hit track that catapulted him to stardom.
He expressed deep gratitude to Olamide for his significant contribution to his success, stating that the collaboration marked a pivotal moment in his career.
In addition to his music career, Zlatan has also ventured into fashion, launching his clothing line in Lagos.
The grand opening event drew top celebrities, further cementing his influence in the entertainment industry.
“Thank you to every MAPOLY student who stood by me. Thank you Day 1 Zlatanovaz. Can’t believe today makes it exactly 10 years already… And we’re still going strong,” Zlatan shared with his fans and supporters.
