A total of 109 personnel of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) have been commissioned as the pioneer armed squad of the foremost anti-graft agency.
It should be recalled that the Federal Government, through the Office of the National Security Adviser, approved the Commission’s request to bear arms.
At the graduation ceremony held at the Aguiyi Ironsi Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja, on Wednesday, the Chairman of ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, SAN, congratulated the graduates and described their commissioning into the elite armed squad of Nigeria’s law enforcement agencies as a significant milestone.

He emphasised that this achievement was not only pivotal for the graduates but also for the Commission, which remains committed to enhancing the capacity of its workforce to effectively combat corruption and related vices.
The ICPC Chairman, represented by the Commission’s Director of Operations, Mr. Shehu Yahaya, highlighted that the skills acquired during the one-month intensive training would undoubtedly inspire the graduates to serve the Commission with dedication. This was stated in a press release signed by Demola Bakare, Director of Public Enlightenment and Education, and Spokesperson for the Commission, made available to journalists in Bauchi on Wednesday.
