The Commander 2 Brigade
Nigerian Army(NA)/ Sect 4 Joint Task Force South South Operations DELTA SAFE Brigadier General Jafaar Ibrahim has promised to continue to sustain the existing synergy between the NA and the Nigerian Correctional Service.

The commander made this pledge during a courtesy call by the newly posted Controller of Corrections Akwa Ibom State Command, CC Frank Okwonkwo, to the Brigade Headquarters in Mbiokporo Cantonment, Uyo, yesterday.

In his remarks, the Commander expressed appreciation on the Controller for the visit and affirmed the brigade’s readiness to collaborate further with the Nigerian Correctional Service to strengthen the existing operational ties.

He underscored the importance of inter-agency cooperation as a strategic approach to address the complex security challenges within Akwa Ibom State and the broader region.

Brig Gen Ibrahim assured the team of the Brigade’s participation in the command’s affairs even as he extended an open invitation for continued communication, signifying the Brigade’s commitment to fostering strong inter-agency relationships for the benefit of the nation.

Earlier, while stating the purpose of the visit, Controller of Corrections Frank Okwonkso expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and noted the critical role that the Nigerian Army plays in maintaining peace and security.

He enunciated that the visit is aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and synergy in Akwa Ibom State.

The Controller commended the Nigerian Army’s dedication to protecting the people of Akwa Ibom and emphasized the importance of a continued partnership between the military and correctional services in ensuring public safety.”

The courtesy call, according to him, served as a platform to discuss key areas of mutual interest and explore opportunities for enhanced collaboration between the two entities to foster security and stability across Akwa Ibom State.

Both parties expressed optimism that the strengthened partnership would enhance operational effectiveness in their respective domains, contributing to a safer and more secure environment for all citizens.

High points of the event included the signing of the Visitors’ book and presentation of souvenirs to the visitors.
