Six members of the Kano State Executive Council have tendered their resignation letters over their ambition to run for offices in the 2023 general elections.
This is coming hours after Kano State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje ordered all political appointees who have the ambition to run for elective offices in the forthcoming 2023 general elections to resign from their respective positions between today and Monday, 18th April 2022.
According to the Governor, the directive is in compliance with Section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act.
Nationnewslead observed that a few hours after the Governor’s directive, six commissioners have so far resigned from their positions.
They include the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mustapha Sule Garo; Commissioner for Rural Development, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ibrahim Karaye; and Commissioner for Budget Planning, Nura Dankadai.
Others include Sanusi Saidu Kiru, Commissioner of Education, and DG Hisbah, Aliyu Musa Kibiya. Continue Reading
