Political associates and stakeholders in the Ogun West have promised to build more political bridges in the East and Central senatorial districts in the state, to ensure the emergence of Senator Solomon Adeola, as successor of Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The stakeholders, under the aegis of ‘55th Appreciation Contact Group’ spoke at the weekend at the empowerment programme to mark the 55th birthday of Adeola.

No fewer than 1,500 people got startup kits and other empowerment items such as sewing and grinding machines, deep freezers, hair dryers, generators, farm implements among others.

The stakeholders expressed belief that the East and Central districts would enhance the chances of the zone in producing the governor for the very first time in the history of the 48 years old state.

Speaking at the event, the chairman, Ogun House of Assembly Commission, Honourable Waliu Lai Taiwo, said the senatorial district is well-prepared and ready to lead the state in 2027.

He described the lawmaker as a unifying factor that has brought all leaders in the district together, saying there is no disunity between the Aworis and the Yewas.

The Eselu of Iselu, Oba Ebenezer Akinyemi, expressed the optimism that the zone will produce a governor for the state notwithstanding the odds against it.

The traditional ruler added that the zone will continue to work and solicit the support of gladiators from other senatorial districts in order to accomplish the long quest for Ogun West son or daughter to become governor of the gateway state.

“We will work with political gladiators, I’m convinced that one day, Ogun West will have someone as governor in Okemosan Governor’s Office,” Akinyemi said.

The Iyaloja General of Ogun State, Chief Yemisi Abass, appreciated the lawmaker for facilitating people-oriented projects to the district.

Speaking on behalf of some members of the state House of Assembly in attendance under the umbrella of extended Ogun West Caucus, Honourable Tunde Tella, said the legislative arm would support Adeola’s ambition.

Tella said that the lawmaker has changed the face of politics in the state.

Also, a former federal lawmaker, Honourable Adekunle Adeyemi, who hails from Ogun Central, urged the people to bring members of other sections of the state into the project and passionately solicit their support.

Adeyemi said the the issue is about producing Governor of Ogun State and not a Governor for Ogun West only.
