Smelling good all day has a lot to do with what you put in your body and on your body. It is a result of the your personal hygiene, nutrition and identifying the right fragrances or perfumes.
Here are five(5) important things to keep you smelling good all day.
- Wash your Clothes
To smell good all day, one of the most important and very first things to do is to ensure that your clothes are clean. Do not wear dirty undergarments or clothes you have previously sweated on . Use detergents that have nice fragrances to wash your clothes.
2. Drink Water
Sweating makes your body lose a lot of water which results in a bad odour. When the body is dehydrated, it produces bad odour, especially from the mouth. Water helps release toxins through sweat. If your body is dehydrated, you are unable to release these toxins (bacteria), which when accumulated leads to an unpleasant body odor, especially in the armpits, feet, and groin area.
3. Eat Healthy Food
It is important to regularly take fruits and vegetables as they keep the skin smooth, and shining all day. There are some diet-induced body odor that can be treated with the right choice of foods. Including foods such as eggs, tofu, fresh fruits and vegetables can help to reduce unpleasant body odor.
4. Use Perfumes/deodorants
Deodorants are formulated to eliminate armpit odor but not perspiration. They’re typically alcohol-based. When applied, they turn your skin acidic, which makes it less attractive to bacteria. Deodorants also commonly contain perfume to mask odor. Many people apply fragrances to the wrong places. Fragrances should be applied on pulse points such as the wrist, back of the ear, behind the knee, and so on.
In using perfumes, you must know the perfume type that suits you before you finally have a signature fragrance. This will take a great sense of judgement and effort from you. Ensure you choose the perfume you are comfortable with that has a lasting effect on you.
Smelling good all day takes a lot of intentionality. If after practicing these tips, you still have a bad odour, you must see a doctor or dermatologist.
5. Bathe regularly
Showering helps eliminate dirt, sweat, and body oils from the skin surface. After a warm or cold bath, you will smell nice and feel rejuvenated. If your skin is sensitive to water (Yes! it’s a condition), take cold showers or a sponge bath to prevent the irritation.
