The wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwoolu has reiterated her commitment to supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to enable them to play their roles as catalysts for the nation’s economic growth.
The First Lady gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of the just-concluded Naija Fair, organised by the Yoruba Tennis Club- Ladies’ Wing, in Lagos.
Mrs. Sanwoolu argued that such support from relevant stakeholders has become imperative if the country is to truly achieve its mission of creating jobs, empowering communities, and sustaining the economy at large.
She commended the ladies wing of the Yoruba Tennis Club for coming up with the initiative dedicated to enhancing the fortunes of small businesses.
The First Lady also expressed the delight at being part of an initiative designed to celebrate local innovation, and further bolster opportunities for Nigerian entrepreneurs.
The chairperson of the Ladies Wing of Yoruba Tennis Club, Chief Oluwafunmilayo Agbebi, explained that the Fair was designed to gather support for Nigerian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
She explained further that the idea of an extensive exhibition, as part of the event was to showcase products and brands from across different fields, such as: fashion, food, and the arts.
“This annual event demonstrates our commitment to promoting MSMEs as engines of Nigeria’s economic development. With each edition, the fair expands its reach, connecting vendors, consumers, and cultural advocates in a celebration of local industry and innovation,” she added.
