In a bid to follow the mandate of the Corps Marshal to ensure visibility on roads, and with the imperative of achieving a hitch-free Easter celebration, the Federal Road Safety Corps, Oyo State Command, has deployed 1,700 personnel, including Special Marshals, 22 patrol vehicles, two state-of-the-art ambulances, a heavy-duty tow truck and power bikes for the Easter celebration across the State.
The Sector Commander, Joshua Adekanye, made this known to newsmen in Ibadan through the sector’s Public Education Officer, Chijoke Inyama, at the weekend.

Adekanye said the special patrol, with objectives to reduce road traffic crashes, fatalities and injuries, commenced on Thursday and would be on for a week.
According to the Corps Commander, “the essence of these deployments is for effective traffic management which has led to increased visibility on all major routes across the state”.
He disclosed that the Command had engaged various stakeholders, including the Park Management System, to cooperate with FRSC during this period.
Adekanye stated further that the Command would sustain its aggressive public enlightenment campaign in major parks across the state to ensure maximum compliance with traffic rules and regulations.
The Corps Commander notified all road users that the Command would apprehend vehicles caught in the act of overloading, use of phone while driving, driver’s licence violation, dangerous driving and driving against traffic.
He further said that the Command would collaborate with other security agencies, health providers and private hospitals for effective intelligence gathering, data collection analysis and prompt attention to road traffic crash victims.
He, therefore, called on Oyo residents to exhibit high level of discipline on the road during and after the Easter celebration.
Reminding all that “only the living celebrates”, the Corps Commander wished all commuters safe driving during the celebration.
