As part of the activities to commemorate the 2023 West African Road Safety Organisation (WARSO) Day which is marked every 8th May, Bauchi State Sector Command of the FRSC organized a one day seminar for road traffic stakeholders in the state.
The seminar was held inside the Special Marshal Conference Room, at the Base of the Sector Command.
The Sector Commander, RS12.1 Bauchi Sector Command, CC Yusuf Abdullahi, who assembled and engaged the Stakeholders on some critical issues around rampant road traffic crashes (RTC) in the State and need for routine review of strategies .
He further emphasised on the importance of effective data collection and analysis as a panacea for mitigating RTC on Nigeria Roads.
Yusuf Abdullahi also commended the stakeholders for a stable response to the Command’s invitations as that remains the tools in rendering service to the motoring public.
The State Coordinator, Special Marshals, Dr Kunle Gbadamosi commended the State Sector Command of the FRSC for untiring efforts aimed at reducing to the barest minimum, road traffic crashes in the state.
The Sector Commander who was represented by DCC Operations, M B Bature, reiterated the commitment of memories of the Special Marshall to collaborating with the FRSC Regular Marshall in all activities to reduce crashes across the state.
Some members of NURTW, NARTO and RTEAN who were in attendance pledged to be active in ensuring the reduction in rates of road traffic crashes in the state.
During the event, the DCC Operations informed the participants of the theme of the seminar: “Improving Road Safety Data Management: A Call for Action”
The Command then solicited for their support to improve Road Safety activities in Bauchi State and the country at large.
In their different remarks, they promised to collaborate and support FRSC in all their programs in order to collectively achieve the target of creating a safer motoring environment.
