Nationnewslead report that The town of Iloko-Ijesa, Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State, Sunday, 23th July, 2023, was agog with people who trooped out en mass to celebrate the appointment of Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe, Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment.
The dance procession first moved from the ancestral home of Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe in Iloko-Ijesa to the Palace of Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, Ajagbusi Ekun VI, Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, who blessed and prayed for more successes to the illustrious son in his political journeys.
Owaloko took time to bless him, asking God and the ancestral spirit of Iloko-Ijesa to continue to guide, protect and endow him with more wisdom for the journeys ahead.
The amiable Monarch equally appreciated Iloko-Ijesa people and by extension, Ijesa North constituents for their show of maturity in keeping to peace and unity during previous general elections.
The dance procession moved from Owaloko palace to Iloko-Ijesa town hall, where Community people, party leaders, elders, women, youths and children had gathered to warmly celebrate the outstanding appointment of the man known as Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe who undermined the odds, trailed the blaze and appointed as commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment.
Commissioner Ogungbangbe was emotional while addressing the people, speaking to them with an air of humility and appreciation.
According to him, “Your love has humbled me the more. I am exceedingly grateful to our party Elders and Leaders for their love and support which gave me opportunity to serve as one of Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke cabinet as commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment. I promise not to take this love and support for granted.
“This is a collective appointment for the people of Ward 11 Ijeda/Iloko and Ijesa North Federal Constituency. This appointment has indeed, marked a new dawn for us all. I dedicate it to God Almighty who made the journey rough for me, in order to show me my friends.
“I can’t thank you enough for the huge support you gave me. It is my firm belief that accepting ourselves as imperfect brothers and sisters prone to human shortcomings, and the removal of contrived bitterness, rancour and acrimonious, we can always put our ideas together far above primordial personal interest for the sake of building a virile Ijesa North, where peace and progress shall at all times dominate our thinking and remains our common focal point. This is possible, practicable, and achievable with the right desire.
Once more, I thank all my unflinching supporters, both within and outside my great Party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, who by their actions, have proved again that Ijesa North is home to PDP.
In a very special way, I appreciate and applaud the unique courage, vision of my dear father and kabiyesi Alayeluwa Oba Dr. Akeem Olusayo Ogungbangbe, Owaloko of Iloko-Ijesa, throughout the daunting nomination.
Similarly, I owe an unquantifiable gratitude to our indefatigable elders, whose steadfastness and strong faith in my capacity to deliver the dividends of democracy to my people, have remained without change, and that which will always be a formidable challenge to me to go the extra mile in providing quality representation.
Even to those who did not support my nomination, I bear no grudges as a refined democrat with a depth of knowledge of the tenets of democracy.
Ijesa North is our home, and together, we shall make it a befitting home for all of us to live in and prosper.
Thank you all as I sincerely wish you GOD’s infinite blessings.
I remain yours in the service of humanity,
Hon. Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe.
