…Says Ndiomu has no clue, direction for programme

Niger Delta ex-agitators under the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, have called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sack the Interim Administrator of the programme, Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd), within one week over allegations of gross misconduct and cluelessness.

The beneficiaries of PAP, who made the call under the umbrella of Niger Delta Defence Corps, NDDC, yesterday, accused Ndiomu of cluelessness and incompetence with the agenda to scrap the programme abruptly as against its blueprint.

The leader of the group, self-styled Gen. John Egbe, speaking on behalf of the group urged President Tinubu to sack Ndiomu without delay because his clueless style of managing the programme had brewed tension in the Niger Delta region.

“We are calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to sack Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd) immediately because he is driving the programme and the Niger Delta region into chaos. We also urge Mr President to appoint an administrator from Delta Ijaw because no Deltan has ever been appointed since inception of the programme.

“The many anomalies arising from Ndiomu’s administrative style were enough reasons for us to retaliate as usual, but because of the apparent visionary leadership style of Mr President, we decided to back out of our earlier plan.

“Thousands of us have not been paid our monthly stipends since Ndiomu assumed office, who has also employed a divide-and-rule tactic in his dealings with leaders of ex-agitators.

“Again, the financial fraud allegations against him, his refusal to pay thousands of beneficiaries and the stoppage of training are pointer to the fact that he’s on a mission to sabotage the programme as earlier planned with the former NSA.

“It’s enough, Mr President should do the needful to avoid escalation of the brewing tension in the Niger Delta, as we’re ready to embark on the unimaginable voyage to the creeks.

“Finally, we hereby advise traditional rulers and politicians praising Ndiomu despite his apparent clueless leadership style to desist from their evil act. If they’re on the same page with Ndiomu regarding the programme, then they should prepare for our wrath”, Egbe said.
