A former member of Kano State House of Assembly, Hon.Yusuf Babangida Sulaiman, has said that the opposition parties, especially the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) were jittery over the emergence of former governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, as national chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

This was just as he disclosed that Ganduje has sent a serious signal to the opposition PDP as members of the parties both from within the state and outside Kano would not stage a come-back to the APC.

“As they know clearly, teaming up with the immediate past governor (Ganduje) would not only pave the way for them to get democracy dividends, but would also raise them from their dead political limbo.

Suleiman, who is a former lawmaker from 2011, disclosed that the reactions of PDP and many other opponents of Ganduje to his becoming APC National Chairman has shown intense jittery and unsettled those who do not wish APC well.

According to him, going by their critics,”It is interesting that our opponents want to be in position to advise us on who best to lead our Party, this clearly shows that the emergence of Ganduje would not have come at a better time than now”.

He noted that “as for other expired politicians that are largely sponsored and have made it a duty to vilify Ganduje, this is only the beginning of their heartache, because he is poised to lead the APC through a smooth formation of government and institutionalization of a proper political reward system.”

He added that with Ganduje as the APC national chairman, victory is certain for the party in “upcoming polls in Bayelsa, Kogi and Imo and a grand return of Edo back to APC,” he boasted.

Alhaji Suleiman stated that “going by the poorly outcome of PDP during the last election in 2023 in Kano, I would rather advise them to be rubbing shoulders with the smaller contemporary like the Labour Party ,People Redemption Party, New Nigeria People Party and their likes.”

The former House of Assembly member explained further that they are indeed open to constructive criticism which they would warmly embrace from a logical perspective to make APC stronger and better.

“But for illogical scripters they can continue their convenient one-sided accounts laced with falsehood and imagination, while Ganduje and APC are only plotting the beginning of great positive things to come for the Party”.
