A 23-year-old man identified as Safiyanu Abubakar, from Adamawa State has confessed to intoxicating and raping a female student in the state.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje in a statement on Saturday said Safiyanu, a resident of Angwan Chamber in Toungo Local Government Area of southern Adamawa, made the confession to operatives of the state Police Command who arrested him.

“I took advantage of her vulnerability after mixing Captain Jack (a hot drink) and Coke and making her take it,” Safiyanu told the Police.
Nguroje said the incident took place earlier in the week, September 12.
According to Nguroje, “The suspect, on 12/9/2023 was said to have paid a visit to the Victim (Name with held) as a friend and Good Samaritan but unfortunately he intoxicated her drinks.”
The spokesman said the state Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, had ordered for immediate prosecution of the suspect on completion of investigation.
