Abdullahi Ibrahim, a 500-level student of Veterinary Medicine, Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, has been arrested by Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly stabbing a 17 years old Secondary School student, Umar Usman, to death.
The disclosure was made by Corps Commandant, Ilelaboye Oyejide, while briefing newsmen on Sunday in Bauchi, explaining that the suspect was arrested in Misau local government area of the state.
He further said that the Command received information that a 17 years old Secondary school student, Umar Usman in Misau was found wrapped in clothes and dumped at Misau byepass.
According to him, “This is a case of culpable homicide, on the 20th October 2023 a lifeless body of Umar Usman was found wrapped in a white cloth and dumped in Misau bypass.
“He was quickly taken to General Hospital Misau where he was certified dead and handed over to the family for burial,” Oyejide said.
According to the Commandant, “when we received the incidence information, we raised a high powered intelligence officers to go to Misau and investigate and to bring the perpetrators to book.”
He said after series of investigations by the operatives, a suspect was arrested with the name Abdullahi Ibrahim, a 500-level student of Veterinary Medicine ABU Zaria.
The Commandant said that, “We came to realise that there was a chat communication between the suspect Ibrahim and the deceased Usman. In the communication, we saw where the suspect enticed the deceased with homosexual love where he showed him his naked picture.”
“When the deceased went to meet him, somehow, he was stabbed in the stomach and wrapped in white cloth and dumped where he was found,” he added.
The Commandant said that during investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime and would be charge to court according to his offense.
The suspect, Ibrahim Abdullahi, said that the deceased approached him with knife but, in a self defense, that led to struggle that resulted in stabbing the deceased to death.
According to him, “I was really afraid because it was something I have never encountered in my life. That was why I wrapped the dead body in a cloth and dumped it along the bypass road.”
