A member of the Green Chamber (House of Representatives) at the National Assembly representing Argungu/Augie Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, Hon. Sani Yakubu Noma, said he has concluded an arrangement to give out 100 female orphans for marriage.
While speaking to journalists at his country home of Argungu in Kebbi State, he said the marriage plan is part of his contributions to his religious obligations and sympathy for female children who lost their parents in his constituency.
He said arrangements have been concluded for the marriage ceremony, which will take place at the Palace of the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammad Mera.
He added that the event would take place on Saturday, November 25th, 2023, by 10 a.m.
He pointed out that a committee has been set up for the successful implementation of the event, adding that those selected to be married were drawn from the two local government areas that make up his federal constituency.
“Already, I have procured beds, mattresses, essential furniture, and other matrimonial commodities for the beneficiaries of the marriage.”
Hon. Noma, House of Representatives, disclosed to journalists that he would disburse constituency equipment to over 1000 people as part of his constituency project during the marriage ceremony.
He said the items to be distributed include 500 milling machines, 600 pumping machines, 500 motorcycles, 200 vehicles, and 100 grinding machines, respectively.
