President Bola Tinubu has arrived at the National Assembly to lay the proposed N27.5 trillion budget estimates for 2024 fiscal year to the joint session of the National Assembly.
The budget proposal which was approved by Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Monday was N1.5 trillion higher than the N26 trillion approved by the National Assembly in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP)
The budget proposal is to be formally laid during the joint session of the National Assembly.
Some members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) are expected to accompany the President to the joint session.
Officials from various Security Agencies including Department of State Security (DSS), Guards Brigade, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Sergeant-at-Arms were deployed to the National Assembly complex to ensure law and order during the brief ceremony.
Aside the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau and Deputy Speaker, Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, other lawmakers in attendance include: Senators present include: Senator Adamu Aliero, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, among others.
