Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged development partners to provide more support for the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in priority areas like e-mobility, job creation, agriculture, food security, and the power sector. He made this plea during a courtesy visit by the Global Managing Director of the Tony Blair Institute (TBI), Mr. Michael McNair, to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Shettima emphasized the importance of walking the talk in leadership and called on the TBI to offer its expertise in enhancing the adoption of technology in Nigeria, specifically in the deployment and use of e-vehicles for public transportation. He highlighted the administration’s commitment to addressing challenges, particularly in the security situation marked by terrorism, kidnapping, and banditry.

The vice president expressed the need to improve the quality of governance, create jobs, and engage the youth to curtail challenges like terrorism. He acknowledged TBI’s partnership with Nigeria in priority areas such as job creation, agriculture, food security, and support for the power sector.

Michael McNair, the Global Managing Director of TBI, commended the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima. He noted the VP’s impressive participation at the World Economic Forum, expressing the Institute’s commitment to supporting growth and development in Nigeria by deploying additional resources to achieve set objectives.
