Benue State House of Assembly has approved the sack of three local government caretaker chairmen for alleged gross misconduct and embezzlement.
The affected caretaker chairmen are from Ukum, Katsina-Ala, and Gboko Local Government Areas of the state.
Their sack was announced during the House session on Tuesday having approved the letter from the state governor
Speaker of the House of Assembly, Aondona Dajoh read the letter of the state governor on the floor and put the question seeking their approval to members, which was upheld.
The sacked chairmen were asked to hand it over to their deputies immediately.
In the same vein, the House approved the names of new caretaker chairmen, Verlumun Avar, Victor Iorzaa, and Justin Shaku for Gboko, Ukum, and Katsina-Ala LGAs, respectively.
The sacked chairmen are, Tervershima Agber, Gideon Haanongon, and Francis Zazan of Gboko, Ukum, and Katsina-Ala LGAs respectively.
The sacked chairmen were among the 23 local government chairmen sworn in on December 6, 2023.
