The Yobe State Police Command has clarified that Adamu Garba Hudu, a Lecturer with Al-Ma’arif College of Health Science and Technology, Potiskum, in Potiskum LGA of Yobe State was actually arrested over “inappropriate conduct towards students.”
The clarification was made by the Command PPRO, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim while reacting to several media reports that the said lecturer was arrested for alleged rape.
According to him, “It is not rape, he was arrested for inappropriate conduct on students, please.”
Information available showed that Adamu Garba Hudu is an employee of the State Government as a staff of General Hospital, Potiskum, while engaged as a visiting Lecturer at Al-Ma’arif College, a private school of nursing in Potiskum.

Further reports have it that he is a Mental Health Psychiatric Nursing lecturer in the school and was arrested after an allegation of rape of one of his students was raised coupled with how he allegedly used to lure his students in a ‘sex for grade’ situation.
The suspect was arrested after allegedly raping the latest victim in his office at the General Hospital, Potiskum.
Dungus Abdulkarim however said that the suspect was arrested by Police last week Tuesday for alleged inappropriate conducts and breach of trust and is going through further investigation.
According to him, “The suspect is in our custody. He was apprehended on Tuesday for alleged rape, molestation and breach of trust. Further investigation is ongoing. Case forwarded to court for determination.”
