In a bid to realise the mandate of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in the provision of employment for the unemployed in the society, the NDE has trained 36 selected unemployed persons whose resettlement facilities are being disbursed.
The Director-General of the NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, said this through the Ondo State coordinator of NDE, Mr Adelodun Olusegun Michael, during the disbursement ceremony of resettlement items to graduates of Community-Based Training Scheme (CBTS) in the state.
‘’The job creation policy of the NDE has helped a lot of unemployed people as a result of our experience on skills development and training over the years coupled with our presence all over the states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), Abuja.
‘’Today, the Vocational Skills Development (VSD) Department has carefully trained all of you that were selected in all the 18 local government areas of the state
‘’I am pleased to inform you today that the participants have acquired knowledge in shoe and bag making, hair dressing, catering and tailoring.
‘’The purpose of these disbursement facilities to our participants is to make them self-reliant so that they too can be employers of labour rather than waiting or seeking for government paid jobs.
‘’Having said this, the participants are advised to make judicious use of the equipment and ensure that prompt repayment is gradually made after few months of moratorium,’’ he said.
