A Chinese national, Frank Geng-Quangrong, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Kano High Court sitting in Miller Road for the murder of his Nigerian girlfriend in Kano in 2022.
Justice Sanusi Ado-Ma’aji delivered the verdict on Tuesday, finding the accused guilty of the offence and subsequently convicting and sentencing him to death by hanging until he breathes his last.
Geng-Quangrong was arrested and remanded by the police in September 2022 for culpable homicide, following the murder of his 22-year-old girlfriend, Ummukulsum Buhari, at her residence in Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso LGA of Kano.
The prosecution outlined that the offence violated the provisions of Section 221(b) of the Penal Code Law.
