The Rapid Response Squad has arrested a man named Akinjobi Wahab for attempting to rob a police officer of their patrol bike.
In the early hours of Sunday, March 31, 2024, members of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) operating covertly on a motorcycle apprehended a robbery suspect, Akinjobi Wahab, aged 19, as he attempted to steal their patrol motorcycle.
This was disclosed on the official ”X” account of the Lagos State Command. The command stated that Wahab was armed with a machete and had been taken into custody.
“The machete-wielding suspect was arrested at about 4 am on Acme Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, in the company of four others now at large. This is coming on the heels of the emplacement of regular foot and vehicular patrols in the area by the Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.”
Wahab was taken into custody around 4 am on Acme Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, accompanied by four accomplices who managed to evade capture.
This incident follows the implementation of regular foot and vehicular patrols in the area by RRS Commander CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, prompted by numerous reports of criminal activity occurring during the early hours in Agidingbi, Ikeja.
Upon completion of investigations, the suspect will face legal proceedings in court.
