The Adamawa Police Command has arrested not fewer than 15 suspected criminals for armed robbery and housebreaking in Adamawa.
The 15 suspects, known as the ‘Notorious Shilla Boys,’ were arrested by members of the Anti-Shilla Squad during the Salah celebration.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the suspects were arrested during the just-concluded Sallah celebrations within Yola, Jimeta, and environs.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, appreciates the good people of Adamawa State for their collaboration in the fight against armed robbery, housebreaking, and violent crimes by the radical ‘Shila’ cult group,” the statement added.
The statement also extended the commendation of the CP to officers and men of the command for their commitment to duty and for creating an enabling environment.
SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje assured of the readiness of the command to ensure the prosecution of the suspects upon completion of the investigation.

Items recovered from them include dangerous weapons, hard drugs, 9 mobile phones, a TV set, and a POS machine, among others.
The suspects include Usman Ahmadu, 32, Abdullahi Shuaibu, 18, Auwal Saleh, 18, Usman Abdullahi, 21, Auwal Isah, 20, Muhammad Abubakar, 18, Jamilu Hassan, 19, and Abdulsalam Abdullahi, 20.
Others include Salisu Umar, 19, Yahya Umaru, 25, Salahudeen Auwal, 18, Yusuf Ahmed, 20, Jamilu Sani, 18, Abraham Joel, 18, and Muhammad Auwal, 19, of various addresses.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
