Abia state Governor, Alex Otti says his government is ready to partner genuine investors to create industrial and commercial hubs in Aba and other parts of the state in line with his vision to transform the economy of the the state.

Otti stated this in Umuahia during an interactive meeting with Tick Technologies Limited and their partners who are providing platforms to train youths and other entrepreneurs on digital economy.

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Caleb Ajagba, Otti noted that what the group is doing in the area of digital economy is in line with his vision in government, stating that he created the Ministry of Digital Economy and SME to further give impetus to creating better platforms for youths and other entrepreneurs to thrive.

Otti, who said that the government is committed to ensuring that products made in Aba get into the international space, maintained that his government is doing a whole lot of things including road construction, provision of power, ease of doing business among others to provide conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

While commending the Tick Technologies team for their ingenuity in investing in technology and offering to work with their fellow youths, the governor tasked them on quality and standardization to enable the entrepreneurs compete favourably with their counterparts all over the world.

Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Dr Chimezie Ukaegbu described the just concluded trade fair organized by the team as one of the best ever, adding that the project being championed by the team is in line with the economic transformation agenda of the Governor Alex Otti administration.

Ukaegbu listed improved power supply, security, infrastructure and ease of doing business as some of the measures already put in place by the present administration to attract more investors.

In their submissions, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Ease of Doing Business, Agbonma Ukaobasi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Economy, Miss Elizabeth Chjioke and a member of the Abia State Diaspora Board, Dr. Ani Onu – Onwuchekwa said their offer to train Abia youths in digital skills is timely and a welcome idea for the state government.

They assured that the ground is fertile for the initiative to thrive as government has already provided the right atmosphere for the success of the initiative.

Earlier, some members of the delegation including Dr. Chisomaga Ezeocha, Mr. Ikenna Chike-Obi among others said the technology company, which offers opportunities to expand digital economy of Aba entrepreneurs, wants to ensure Aba made products are feasible in the international market through e-commerce and declared their interest in collaborating with the state government to train and equip the youths of Abia State and improve on their economy through digital skills among other areas of partnership.
