The Executive Chairman of Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon. (Dr) Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating employment opportunities for the teeming youth population in the district.

Apatira stated this while receiving officials of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) in his office on Friday.

At the meeting, the parties expressed a shared commitment to strengthen their partnership towards creating more opportunities for residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA.

The council boss stated that employment creation as one of the priorities of his administration’s agenda has been strictly upheld.

During the meeting, the Executive Chairman expressed his administration’s commitment to collaborating with the agency to create employment opportunities for residents of Itire-Ikate LCDA.

He, however, acknowledged the importance of the LSETF in empowering entrepreneurs and small business owners in the community while also commending beneficiaries of the LSETF soft loan in the district for their judicious use of the facility and its prompt repayment.

He said, “I expressed my gratitude to officials of the LSETF for this entrepreneurial gesture. Its impact on the community and on the lives of the beneficiaries cannot be overemphasised. Additionally, I am assuring you of our administration’s continued support and collaboration to ensure the success of the program.”

In his response, an official of the agency outlined the requirements for loan facilities which include LASRRA number, BVN and NIN. 

Additionally, they noted that in some cases, applicants may be required to make a down payment of a refundable 5 percent equitable contribution and present a certificate from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), depending on the amount of loan being applied for.

The Executive Chairman expressed readiness to continue working with LSETF to drive economic growth and development in the community.
