The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has finished the rehabilitation and re-stringing of four damaged towers along the Jos-Gombe 330kV transmission line, which supplies bulk power to northeastern substations.

The re-stringing of conductors was finished yesterday, June 3rd, 2024, and contractors reconnected the jumper on Tower 282, preparing it for bulk energy transmission.

Recall that the vandalized towers were discovered on April 22, 2024. TCN quickly sent contractors and TCN supervisory engineers to the scene of the incident to begin repairs.

Initially, TCN pledged to finish the repairs and restore supplies by May 27, 2024. However, the fourth tower collapsed during the re-stringing process, delaying completion.

The four towers have now been finished, and the line is ready for bulk power transmission.

TCN thanks the governors’ and people’s patience and support throughout the tower reconstruction project in the country’s northeast.
