Chrisland Schools Limited has graduated a new set of students, totalling 336 across its five school branches in Lagos and Abuja.

The students from Chrisland College, Idimu (100), Chrisland High School, Ikeja (62), Victoria Garden City (58), Abuja (48), Lekki (48), and Festac (20) had their farewell service on Saturday at Lekki in Lagos.

Many dignitaries graced the occasion. They include the founder of the college, High Chief Winifred Awosika; the first lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun; the Head of the National Office of WAEC Nigeria, Dr. Amos Dangut; the pioneer Chief Medical Director of the National Hospital, Abuja, Prof. Francis Durosinmi-Etti; the wife of Ooni of Ife, Olori Temitope Ogunwusi; the Group Executive Director of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Ladan-Baki; and so forth.

Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of the school, Mrs Ibironke Adeyemi, urged the graduates to remain focused and be committed to their future endeavours, saying Chrisland School has instilled in them the right education and character that would help them easily navigate the future challenges.

According to her, all the learners had received a world-class education, the best any youth can get in any world-class secondary school, and this will enable them to compete favourably with their peers anywhere across the globe.

“So, we have instilled in you our core values of discipline, integrity, professionalism, love, and excellence, and I have no doubt that you are propelled for greatness.”

While congratulating the students and their parents on the achievement, Mrs Adeyemi commended the management and staff of the school across branches, the board of directors, and the advisory board for their unwavering support, encouragement, and valuable input to the school over the years.

She also commended the parents of the students for their investments and best legacy to leave for their children, while being particularly thankful to the founder and chairman of the school, High Chief Winifred Awosika, for providing the platform to produce quality future leaders.

She said the effort is yielding tremendous results.

In their separate admonitions at the event, the officiating clerics, the diocesan bishop of Ife Anglican Communion, Rt Rev. Olubunmi Akinlade, and the chief imam of Lekki Central Mosque, Dr. Jamiu Kayode, urged the learners to make good use of the knowledge gained from the college and the good character instilled in them.

They also urged them to remain upright, truthful, trustworthy, and obedient to their parents and the laws of the land.

They said even though they would begin to enjoy some freedom as they would further their education, they should not abuse the freedom but use it for self-development.

“You should also not place priority on tribal or religious inclinations over humanity in your relationships and interactions with people where you are,” Dr. Kayode added.

In his remark, the Chairman on the occasion and Nigeria’s first Professor of Radiation and Clinical Oncology, Franscis Durosinmi-Etti, also urged the graduating students to carry on the great virtues instilled in them as they further their studies.

He said he believes they have been thoroughly trained and believes they will succeed in life once they are not derailed from the right path.

He asked them to be determined and courageous, saying such would help them easily surmount challenges they may face in the future.
