In a significant step towards addressing electrification issues and ensuring adequate power supply, chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Akogun Wale Anomo, has fulfilled his promise to Government College, Ketu, Lagos State by presenting a new 200 KVA transformer to the school.

Some months ago, the school had written and also visited the chairman about the challenge of blackout being experienced by the school, due to a faulty transformer. Anomo promptly addressed the issue by providing a new transformer.

During the official handover, the council chairman emphasised his administration’s commitment to enhancing the educational environment and the overall development of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA. He highlighted the crucial role a stable power supply plays in fostering academic excellence and creating a conducive learning atmosphere for students and staff.

The principals of both the Junior and Senior Schools of Government College, Ketu, expressed their gratitude to the council boss and his administration, noting that the new transformer will alleviate the power outage challenges hindering the school’s operations and academic activities.

In addition to the transformer donation, Anomo also illuminated the streets of Orugbo-Iddo community in Ward G1, completing the pilot phase of the ‘Light up Ikosi-Ejinrin initiative’, a street lighting project aimed at enhancing safety and security for residents.

Furthermore, Akogun Anomo has inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the failed road portion at the entrance of Ajebo community towards Orugbo-Iddo.

He urged the contractors to expedite the work, stressing on the importance of completing the rehabilitation on time.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that he also visited the ongoing reconstruction of road on the Ikorodu-Itoikin highway, particularly the Ajebo/Ago-Hausa area, which is now at the asphalt laying phase.

He commended the contractors, GELD Construction Company, for the work done and encouraged them to finish the asphalt laying as quickly as possible to ensure a smooth ride for commuters and residents.
