Ondo State Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, on Thursday, declared that the present administration led by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, is committed to bringing development to all parts of the state especially, the Akoko communities in the four Akoko local councils.

Adelami who assured the people of the Akoko community in the northern senatorial area of the state maintained that the Aiyedatiwa- led administration in the state would redouble its efforts towards meeting the need of the people in the area to witness unprecedented development.

Adelami who stated this during an interaction with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the four local government areas in Akoko councils, reassured that the present administration is committed towards ensuring adequate security of lives and property in the Akoko communities.

The Deputy governor said the APC-led government in the state is envisioned to be a state where everyone can thrive and have access to sustainable, inclusive development, saying Aiyedatiwa is working hard to make life bearable for them.

According to him, no government exists without securing the lives and properties of the citizens and said the state government is working towards addressing the insecurity challenge tabled before the government, assuring that the people of the area will sleep with their two eyes closed.

“I will table all these requests before my principal Governor Aiyedatiwa who is a “listening leader. All the issues raised will be attended to, and answers to the ones that need clarity.

“On the issue of security, Mr Governor has raised the bar. He recently donated 25 vehicles to security agencies in the state, in addition to all other incentives to ensure the security of lives and property.”

Adelami charged the leaders to go back to their respective units and mobilize more support for Aiyedatiwa/Adelami ticket, which he described as a “divine ticket”

According to him, “Not all party members will be appointed but I can assure you that you will not be forgotten. We will emplace policies that will positively affect all residents of the state, regardless of political affiliations.”

He, however, promised the state government would provide unwavering dedication, equity, inclusiveness, and accountability while upholding the rule of law.

The leaders who had earlier tabled their challenges to Adelami appreciated him for the opportunity and attention given to them to interact with them to provide solutions to their challenges.

The APC leaders, who came in their numbers, took turns to speak on burning issues of governance and politics, youth and women empowerment

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan said the gathering was at the instance of the deputy governor, who deemed it thoughtful to bring the APC leaders together under one roof.

Olabimtan disclosed the meeting had brought together every notable APC leader in Akoko, saying the main objective is to energise the party faithful ahead of the November 16 governorship election in the state.

An APC chieftain, Mrs Grace Animola, appreciated the deputy governor for calling for the meeting and also thanked the governor for the many appointments into the new Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
